When you attend an event that looks effortless and you have a great time, you know the hours of planning behind it are extensive. The 2020 Extravaganza is no different! The planning for this event started in Spring 2018. A committee meets regularly to set up all the details, big and small, to make this event a smashing success. The date has been chosen. Bands have been hired. To tent or not to tent? Activities surrounding this event have been discussed. Many, many ideas to discuss and hash out. One thing that is usually needed for these large events is cash. To cover the costs of the 2020 Extravaganza, fundraisers have been held, and will continue to be held. A spaghetti dinner during an April ice storm in 2018 was a success, even with the bad weather. Alumni clothing sales in the summer of 2018 also added to the event pot. The next fundraiser on the schedule happens THIS WEEK. A chicken BBQ and Basket Raffle will be held at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Saturday, May 18, 2019 from 2PM-10PM. A basket raffle preview night will be held Friday, May 17, 2019 from 5PM-8PM at the KofC. Take your time checking out the baskets and purchase your tickets Friday night. Then, return on Saturday for a delicious BBQ and local music. On Saturday the 18th, takeout and dinners will be available starting at 5PM; Basket Raffle Drawings will be at 7PM; 50/50 Drawing will be at 9PM and; Live Local Bands will play from 6PM-10PM. I encourage you to come out, relax and enjoy the evening with fellow alumni. Karla Vigliotti and Bob Dedrick are spearheading the 2020 Extravaganza Committee-the committee has been working very hard to bring an amazing event to the Alumni community in 2020. Let’s come out and support their efforts in the fundraising process, and eat some amazing chicken while we are at it! Also, keep an eye out for future fundraisers in 2019….
